With reference to current research and your own experience, consider importance of children's essesntial needs to a school's behaviour management policy - Essay Example Good practice within schooling comprises of a great deal with doing elementary basics for the students so that their basis is made stronger and that they do not have issues which are of the most basic nature. Their nurture must be done in a way that their personalities mold in a positive manner and that optimism should reign supreme. It is usually the responsibility of the parents and teachers to make sure that the good practice is embedded within the personalities of the students, and that there are absolutely no glitches in the make-up of their work domains when they grow up within the future (Noell 2002). Hence good practice is deemed as very pivotal towards schooling of students, the grooming and other realms. More than anything else, good practice comes about with an effort to turn desires into realities, on the part of the school authorities through school behavior management policies. As far as the identification of threats towards normal development of students is concerned, there are aplenty. These suggest that normal development can be marred if there is disconnect between the schoolââ¬â¢s behavior management domains and the students for a long amount of time. Perhaps the curriculum taught to them is not in line with the requirements that the students have at that particular stage within their lives. There are a number of other threats as well, all of which can bring about trouble for the students and their future aspirations (Shuttleworth 2003). These include the basis of interruption that the students might have within their lives as well as the modern sources of entertainment which take away the attention of the students every now and then. The threats come in large numbers as fun and frolic seems to be a much happening thing as compared to the curriculum and books that these students read. Now it is the responsibility of the schools to make sure that

Western civilization class assignment (about 20th centrury)
Western civilization class (about 20th centrury) - Assignment Example iii) During the war, it happened that African Americans, women, and the Mexican Americans were able to find new opportunities in the industry. However, the Japanese who were living on the Pacific coast relocated to internment camps. According to Robert (143), the difference in the Allieââ¬â¢s visions of postwar Europe had a basis on the divergent intentions of each country that was involved. The Soviet Union intended to make Europe communistic. In this way, it would be easier for her to rule Europe. However, this was not possible as it portrayed a lust for power on the Soviet Unionââ¬â¢s side. The United Kingdom also wanted the USA and Europe to cooperate with its ideas and policies but, again, this was not possible. Moreover, France wanted Europe to be free from the USA as was portrayed in her bid to establish the European Union. The result of these differences was the emergence of the Cold War, for instance, between the USA and the Soviet Union in their bid to have control over Europe. The Cold War saw countries like China and Japan getting closer to the Western countries to avoid the war-pact Soviet Union and its allies (Robert, 167). The independence of the European colonies came from the Cold War between America and the Soviet Union. There was a creation of new countries during this period with some full of natural resources while others desperately poor. This change led to the loss of interest in these nations by their European colonizers. The Cold War complicated the US support for decolonization though it continued with the war to prevent Soviet Unionââ¬â¢s domination in Europe. All the USââ¬â¢ European allies believed that after their recovery from WW II, their colonies would provide markets and raw materials for the growth of Europeââ¬â¢s economy. However, the American governmentââ¬â¢s intention clearly showed that it was on the opinion of letting the colonies slip away. This factor

Evaluation and critique - Essay Example ecomes handy in facilitating the interaction the different variety are thus harnessed through multitasking; proving a significant advantage over them. As a result, what one may view as a shortcoming of someone in just focusing on one vent at a time may present a chance for collaborating different activities via multitasking (Davidson 26). Coupled with the other tips of how to maintain keeping attention for long stretches of time, multitasking provides a rational way of perceiving different activities thereby increasing the probability of success. This is achieved through the enhancement if the ability to unravel problems and other mishaps and at the same time propose amicable strategies that could result into their solutions. Attention that is multitasked is able to split every task in to various parts to other dedicated parts of the brain (Davidson 33). This in turn improves the capability to process the multiple events taking place at the same duration of time, thus overcoming attention blindness. Multitasking is very important in ensuring that a lot of information is registered by the brain especially during instances where there is limited timed framed and not a single event can be allocated its individual time for taking place. This helps to contend with the modern trend of information overload and put up with t he grueling fact that the digital instruments designed in this modern age are formatted in such a way that they do not have a center node that disseminates one piece of information so that people can only listen and focus their attention to one particular information stream (Davidson 42). Employing multitasking and collaboration in studies can be efficient in helping students share their opinions more conveniently. Multitasking and collaboration not only help students in sharing information but also but are also the perfect remedy for attention blindness. Collaboration focused on difference has the implication that problems with high level of

Risk Management - Essay Example Previously, the safety culture at BP had presented a cause for concern with the Texas City Refinery explosion and other events presenting an adverse image. Toney Hayward, the former CEO of BP, had tried to enhance safety at BP when he took office at a time when BP faced three criminal investigations. However, it would appear that the managerial decision-making processes at BP remained flawed as managers continued to take risks in efforts directed towards trying to manage costs and delays while neglecting safety. Although it is likely that a blowout preventer with a flawed design contributed to the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster, the managerial emphasis on costs and delays caused BP subcontractors to become negligent. BP managers refused Halliburton recommendations to use twenty-one centralisers and proceeded to cement the well using only six centralisers. Halliburton used cement that did not pass its own laboratory tests to cement the well and this contributed to the flow of hydrocarb ons into the well. Transocean crew did not take adequate notice of the kick in the well that pointed to a loss of well control and proceeded to release gases from the well on to the rig through the mud gas separator instead of diverting the gas away from the rig. In addition, inadequate maintenance of the blowout preventer was to contribute to events. Because bonuses presented to BP project managers depended on completing projects close to budgeted costs and schedule, the wrong emphasis had persisted. It is likely that independent verification of managerial decision-making emphasising safety from a command that is distinct from the project management command at BP under a Chief Safety Officer reporting directly to the CEO at BP will help present the correct emphasis. BP did have a safety director at the time of the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster, but it will appear that this safety director lacked powers, a separate chain of command and a capacity for working effectively to give effe ct to his mandate. The new CEO at BP has promised to create a safety division at BP with sweeping powers. BP project managers should now receive bonuses that emphasise correctness of their managerial decision-making for a project instead of receiving rewards for trying to complete a job within budget and schedule while taking risks with safety. In addition, it will make sense for BP to try to contribute towards helping to improve the design and reliability of superior technology for offshore operations, including subsea blowout preventers. The dangers of Online Gaming Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
The dangers of Online Gaming - Essay Example Online gaming tend require a high degree of involvement. As these games integrate communication and entertainment in a play environment they become significant to players and their lives, they become more and more popular drawing obsession from players across the globe. This paper has illustrated that online games could have an adverse impact on a personââ¬â¢s well-being especially when played excessively. Online game addiction is characterized by the same symptoms and effects as those other addictions that are considered as illnesses and medical cases. Personal relationships, social interaction, physical activity ââ¬â these factors are just some of the casualties of online game addiction. Finally and most importantly, online games display a worse kind of media violence that threatens to undermine the proper development of young people. Positive values are under attack as shocking images of images of violence and human sufferings are glorified with computer and technological a esthetics. According to David Trend, while such images do not necessarily compel players to action, they gradually reinforce acceptance. As previously mentioned, players are no longer spectators in the violent acts as in movies and television materials. They partake in the action and, needless, to say it adds up to the influence on a playerââ¬â¢s psyche. Numerous cases have already been reported in the media, directly linking online games to deaths, ruined relationship and bad health implications. This is the reason why attention must be given to this sector either by governments and the parents. Studying, monitoring and possibly regulating online games could address the dangers that it may pose not just to individuals but to society as a whole.

Age of enlightment - Essay Example The second treatise of local government The author in this article conveys that man by nature is free and has no obligation to subject to anybodyââ¬â¢s will. He neglects the idea of government and the punishment imposed by religious concepts. The author suggests that human being belonging to same species should not be subjected to discrimination and slavery but to equal freedom. Adam smith ââ¬â Wealth of nations The author in this book explains about the feudalism and beurecracy existed during the industrial revolution of Europe. He beloved that feudalism spreading in Europe could hinder the industrial growth and only thing could save it is socialism. He believes that development is due to the specialization of labor and this only can give material well being. He mentions that self love is the reason for prosperity in man which is a nature only found in human beings. He claims that market is a place where individual co -operates with each other and where the talents of individu als are shared for material benefit. His theory says that the value of a thing sold in a market is the proportion of labor put in the making o f it and brought into the market. Comparison of Locke and Adam theory The similarity in both Locke and Adamââ¬â¢s proposition is that both believe in the human rights of people. They believed in the labor of the human beings and the value attached to it and right attached to it. Both these authors were in support of the laborers and working men. Both the authors talk about the discrimination of government towards the poor and needy. They both talk about property of nature and the law of nature. Locke suggests that ââ¬Å"Adam and Eve, and after them all parents were, by the law of nature, under an obligation to preserve, nourish and educate the children, they had begottenâ⬠. In a way, both favor socialism and equal distribution of power, property and right to people. They demand that it in natural state, people have the right to do wh at they wanted to and in any case should not be subjected to slavery. Natural liberty was central theme to both of their writing. Locke claims that the government is formed in order to protect the property and Adam smith also talks about labor and property that is wealth of nation. Both the authors believe in a market which works freely and without any discrimination. Smith believed that society functioned in a capitalist way and mostly wants to exploit the laborers and working class. Smith mentions that ââ¬Å"There is no art which one government sooner learns of another than that of draining money from the pockets of the peopleâ⬠. Smith claims that property is the effort of working class and same is said by Locks that property is labor mixed with an object. Both of them emphasize less on a government who disregard human rights and interests of common men. Contrast between Locke and Smith theory Locke mainly discuss about a community where individuals have free interest and ac quired natural freedom. He mainly focuses on human rights and property .On the other hand Adam Smith focuses on labor and its value and on the division of labor. According to Smith ââ¬Å"In general, if any branch of trade, or any division of labor, be advantageous to the public, the freer and more general the competition, it will always be the more soâ⬠. Locke mainly mentions about the Government and their abusive way of governing the people. According to Locke ââ¬Å"The legislature acts against the trust reposed in them, when they endeavor to invade the property of the subject, and to make themselves, or any part of the community, masters, or arbitrary disposers of the lives, liberties or fortunes of the peopleâ⬠He claims that instead of representing the people, government represent
